Reverend Amos L. Marsh, Sr.

Reverend Amos L. Marsh was born in Sanford, NC and relocated to Mt. Vernon, NY in 1965. He graduated to Larchmont, NY and joined the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, NY, where on August 10, 1986 he was ordained as a Deacon. In 1974, Reverend Marsh attended Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY and earned a BS degree in Political Science. In 1982, Minister Marsh joined the NYC Police Department and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. As a retired NYPD Sergeant, Reverend Marsh now works as a Special Deputy US Marshall in NYC and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated.

Reverend Marsh is a man of big dreams. His commitment to ministry, education and to the community has caused him to strive for excellence in every area of his life. He takes great pride in his ministry for Jesus Christ. After serving as a faithful Deacon for over 14 years, Amos L. Marsh, Sr. accepted God’s calling to a greater level of service. He preached his soul-stirring initial sermon and was licensed to preach the gospel of December 13, 1998. In January 1999, Reverend Marsh attended the Manhattan Bible Institute in NYC. He also attended NY Theological Seminary, where he received a Master of Divinity degree and is presently enrolled in the Doctoral Program. Reverend Marsh is a member of the Beta Alpha Chapter Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.

Like the famous Nike slogan, Reverend Marsh has adopted the adage of “Just Do It.” He applies this attitude to his ministry, his parenting and his work in the community. Allowing nothing to deter him, Reverend Marsh stays focused on his work God has ordained him to do. As a humble servant, he manages to perfect the art of balancing family, work, and ministry. He is joyfully married to Elaine Marsh and they are the proud parents of two children, Lee and the late Ashlei Danielle. They are proud grandparents of Camren, Gabrielle, and Malaya.

The life of Reverend Amos L. Marsh, Sr. is a testimony of God’s goodness to His children. Though life has not always been easy, Reverend Marsh is determined to persevere, persist, and prevail. His greatest pleasure is in knowing God is not through with him yet, and the best is yet to come.
